It's Righteous, Babe

The Anger list for a while there was kinda long and then I noticed that the next list was going to be Righteousness and realized that a lot of the songs there probably belonged here.

Some of the best songs that women have made (to my mind) have been so because they were born of seething fury that was barely kept in check and was slowly forced to move in a direction thats almost manipulative because there is no other outlet. Sorry if I'm not making sense. I just saw Bound again recently and it reminded me how painful it can be to try to make righteousness and real life come together.

For some reason the great righteous women singing about themselves always come down to how they use their sexuality to get their way. Molasses always gets irritated as if this is some sort of manipulation, but I see it as the only available path in altogether too many instances. Maybe you just have to be a chick. *shrug*

You'd put me in the ground.
Your crime is always against me
Do you fear what I could be
I'm bigger than you'll ever be

You'd put me in the ground
Can't throw me away
You'd put me in the ground
Can't throw me away
You'd put me in the ground

I am what I must,
Would you bite me i'll I'm dust.
You're terrified
You're terrified of me
