Aches and Complaints: Friggin sore back

For all that insurance has done for me over the years - keeping me out of the poorhouse mainly - I can't help but think it's a scam. All of it.

*sigh*

Doing some shopping around for auto insurance. I forgotten what a pain it is. Not a massive thing really, but it inspires a dull, unpleasant ache right behind my eyes.

And dammit, I got used to only telling insurance people about accidents and violations of the past three years. Now some of them are asking for five or even seven years. Bugger and blast, the last accident I had was over three years ago. That was two cars ago!!

But they still want to know the exact dates. I can recall with great detail what I was thinking the first time I got pulled over for speeding but that was easily five years ago. How am I supposed to remember the precise date??

Molasses has been bugging me to move to a decent agency. Apparently brokers are uncouth. He says you get what you pay for. I used to pay beans with Solo as my broker, through out-of-state agencies. And supposedly a respectable agency will want more money but be there when I actually need them.

Hmph. I wouldn't know. When Deitrich got repairs after an accident it was because the other guy's liability insurer paid for it. Other repairs that she needed later on I never got because I only had liability.

Molasses on the otherhand used to pay Geico through the nose. Then when he was in an accident (not his fault) they tried to screw him. They more or less succeeded.

I want to try for something respectable. Those companies actually have something to lose if their customers get mad at them. AIS gave me Mercury quotes that were utterly rediculous and Allstate's quotes are also uncomfortably high.

I have to call back 21st Century, but I don't have much in the way of high hopes.

So far Solo has proven pretty tough to beat. Maybe if I ever actually did need help I would get dumped like old meat. But 1) I hope I don't need their (or anyone else's) help and 2)
INSURANCE IS A SCAM ANYWAY!!!
