Listening: Chocolate City/Molasses in the shower
Mentally Replaying: thunder
Desiring: more rain and lightning
Pondering: "in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near" ee cummings

It's funny. These days I live my life observing things and imagining the wording and general look and spin I'll give my experiences when I distill them here for you, o gentle reader.

I have no idea why. It's not like you care. *smirk*

But I felt I had to write (well posting has been on my to-do list for over a week now) because of the awesome little squall we just had. I stepped out of work in time to hear rumbling that was too loud and prolonged to be an airplane. The air was thick and the smell.... I just don't think I can do justice to the smell of a desert summer squall using mere words. The air was still while I walked to my car and drove to Ralph's but there must have been a terrific wind up on high because great dark clouds were driving themselves inland, rubbing up against the San Gabriels and creating a beautiful display of lightning and roaring thunder. I was inside the store for maybe 20 minutes and when I came out everything was soaked and though the air was thick and wet, there wasn't any water falling from the sky.

There was another little rain squall roughly an hour and a half ago but the lightning has seemingly quit. It's supposed to continue up in the mountains and high desert. Wee. }:>

I have wanted to make my updates prettier, but I may have to forgo pretty just so I can get everything caught up. As it stands I don't really have time for a real update right now. I really ought to be asleep. The quick and ugly version: baptism, concert, conversations with a British law student, depression, intense work, death in the family, visiting, a funeral, more family, a wedding proposal, a martial arts tourney, the new house, more martial arts and a new (old) place for great French dip sandwiches. Not necessarily in that order and not necessarily related directly to me.

Ok, I have to get to bed. Perchance to sleep.
