Listening: Karmakode, Lacuna Coil
I'd rather be: not alone
Enjoying: a fine Santa Barbara Cabernet Sauvignon

From Firewolf, this reminiscence. I don't miss the 80s. They seemed fueled by greed and narcissism. An inordinate amount of pressure to collect name brand products. Or maybe it only seems inordinate because as a child I thought it was necessary while as an adult I brush it off like so much dust on my shoulder.

1.How old were you in 1980? I turned 3.

2. How old were you in 1989? I turned 12.

3. Were you a Toys R' Us kid? I don't think so. My parents wouldn't take us there, though they may have bought a few presents there.

4. Did you watch Transformers? oh yeah.

5. Did you see E.T. on the big screen? nope

6. Did you own a Lite Bright? I don't think so.

7. Who is your Favorite Golden Girl? Estelle Getty.

8. When someone says " Who you gonna call?"? Ghostbusters!

9.What was your favorite toy? Stuff my brother (OB) got. From his Tonka truck to Matchbox cars and GoBots, I wanted one. So I just played with his.

10. Did you have a Pogo Ball? ...no?

11. Did you listen to New Kids on the Block? Some. I remember they were the rage so I tried to be into them.

12. What New Kid did you have a crush on? None.

13. Did you play M.A.S.H? *sigh* yes. I even remember vaguely how to play.

14. Did you watch The Care Bears? Yes though I wanted to watch more of the evil guy with the dragons.

15. Did you have Jelly bracelets? A few. I think I still have some somewhere.

16. Did you have a charm necklace and/or bracelet? No.

17. Did you own a glo-worm? Nope.

18. Did you ever own a slap bracelet? hehe. Probably. they were really cheap.

19. The Breakfast Club or Sixteen Candles? I didn't watch Breakfast Club until some time in the 90s. Still haven't seen Sixteen Candles

20. Did you have a crazy hair style? Not especially.

21. What was your first bike? Some Schwinn thing that was red with a banana seat.

22. Name one thing you still own from your childhood? A little Hello Kitty drawer thing that I keep some earrings in.

23. Did you have a Cabbage Patch Kid? Nope. Tragedy of my childhood - my parents just didn't believe in buying name brand toys, or the toys that were in the commercials.

24. Did you dress like Madonna? Hah. no! with parents like mine are you kidding?! though I always coveted some of her very earliest looks (and I mean Desperately Seeking Susan)

25. Rainbow Brite or Strawberry Shortcake? Rainbow Brite, from what I can remember.

26. Did you watch Miami Vice? Nope. Also, my parents weren't big on letting us watch TV meant for adults so the TV usually went off at 6pm.

27. Did you own a pair of Jelly Shoes? Nope.

28. Did you own a Trapper Keeper? Probably. This was a school item and thus different.

29. Atari or Nintendo? Nintendo I guess. Though I remember playing Atari. I was good at that and no other console game system since. }:P

30. Did you play Pac-Man? When I could spare the quarters. Which was rare.

31. Which was better JEM or Barbie and the Rockers? JEM.

32. He-Man or She-Ra? Whichever. I'm aware that I'm in the minority, thinking talking with animals is cool.

33. What movie scared you the most? Any movie can scare me easily. I just didn't watch that many movies in the 80s. However, I did see one of the Nightmare on Elm Street ones that put off horror probably all of my life. It took me several years to be able to look at Freddy Krueger and not flinch (and then have trouble sleeping for a few nights after).

34. Did you try to dance like Michael Jackson? Of course.
