Click the following link for a map of Skagafjörður. I've taken a photo of a map in my travel book and marked it up to show the locations of important places, such as where we eat dinner.

Some of the places that I've mentioned in previous journal entries do not appear on the map. Hof, for example, lies within sight of Holar. Reynistaður is on the map, but other farms are not. They all lie within 15-20 minutes drive of the marked sites, however.

Skagastrond, where the country-westerm festival took place last weekend, lies west about an hour's drive. Akureyri lies to the east about the same distance. The island of Drangey lies to the north, and we easily see it in the distance every night as we drive from Holar to our house.

The house where we stay does lie on an island, technically, becase it has ocean inlets on the east and west side, the ocean to the north, and rivers to the south. Since we live at the southern tip, we have to drive its length on a raised dirt road twice a day, then travel back its length to the south to get to the farms where we work.

The airport where Shelley will fly in, after she shuttles from Keflavik to Reykjavik, in the town of Saudarkrokur, a little northwest of our house.

It takes us about 30 minutes to drive from the places marked as "work" to the one marked as "dinner."
