Ahhh! At last I can reflect on the past few days. I just finished watching the video I took on mine and Berek's little mini-vacation up north. *sighs amorously*

I had such a wonderful time! I could almost swear that on the way up the coast my face was practically glued to the window! I was completely in awe at how beautiful everything was. I had been to Monterey twice before, but the drive was during the night and so you can imagine that you don't see much. Everything was so gorgeous. The sun glistening on the ocean was breath taking!

We had to stop and get gas at one point along Highway 1 and it was a little hole in the wall, so you can imagine how expensive gas was. ($2.95 a gallon, no really it was, Berek has the receipt. :D) Still, despite the rip off on gas, it was a beautiful little nook. There were cypress trees all around and there was a vista point there where you could look down below the cliff and watch the waves crashing upon the rocks. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. As Berek put it, "this is why California is the Golden State."

We continued onward and soon there were many people parked along side the road watching the sun set. We pulled over eventually too to take pictures and video of the sunset. It was gorgeous! I have never seen a sunset quite like that one. :D (Not to mention that I would want no one else other than Berek to share it with me.)

We made it to Monterey at about 9 at night. It was still warm and we were both tired. Poor Berek though, he had to drive all the way there. I felt a little bad (and I still do) because I could've driven part of the way, but I'm terrified of driving his car. I'm such a nervous driver and his car is a tank! He claims that he was fine doing it, but regardless, I still feel bad.

The following morning we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I had never been there and I was afraid that we weren't going to have time to do very much, but to my surprise we did do quite a bit. Granted, the tour was a bit rushed but none the less it was fun.

We got to see a lot. They had penguins there and lots of different breeds of shark. The jellyfish exhibit was amazing. They really are rather beautiful creatures. But the tuna were massive! They had yellowfin tuna in one of the tanks with hammerhead sharks and dolphinfish it was so amazing to see how enormous they were!

I also found Nemo! :D Berek didn't want to crouch down and go into the kiddy cove but I did and it was worth it. That was where I found Nemo. It was cute though because I was looking through one of the tanks at Berek and I wasn't sure (but I think he did) if he saw me. :D

Oh! Before we went to the aquarium we saw a baby seal on the beach on Cannery Row. There were about 7 or 8 people there observing him too. We weren't sure if he was hurt or not so Berek and I sought some sort of law enforcement agency nearby, but found nothing. We left it to the other people to try and figure out what to do. I hope that was the right decision. I would hate to find out that we could've done something for the little guy, but at the same time, we were pressed for time. Not to mention we had no idea who to contact about the little guy.

Flashforward!!! After the aquarium we went to Menlo Park for Berek's grandmother's 80th birthday party. It was a very nice occasion save for the fiasco with the cake and the lump I gained on the top of my head. >_< Don't worry though things worked out.

The pavillion that the party was held in was at a park and what a lovely location it was. If it weren't for the blasted heat it would've been a beautiful day. I met a lot of Berek's relatives, which by the way, are very nice people (although I have some resentment towards his cousin).

After the party we went to the motel room that was reserved for us, and there was a bit of a problem with that. It took forever for them to give us the rooms! We were all tired and cranky! Val and I wanted to swim desperately too! We did eventually get into a room and were able to swim. Yay!

The next day we got up early and went to Berek's grandfather's house and again we went swimming for about an hour and a half. From there we went to San Francisco and I had a blast. The city was amazing! The only problem I had was the headache I had from the night before carried over into a good chunk of the day in San Francisco. It eventually went away, but I didn't sleep very much the night before so I was tired too. The other thing was, I became a bit cranky and I think that might've spoiled the trip for Berek and his dad a little. I feel bad about that. Berek's dad said I wasn't cranky, but I think he was trying to be nice. I will have to remember to make it up to both Berek and him sometime.

I slept most of the way home, which was a good thing because we didn't get back to the valley until after 1 in the morning. I had to be at work at 9 and work until 9 at night. The thing was Berek had a tough time that night. His dad may have done something to his car (which we aren't really sure about now) and other things have gotten to him and have made him very tired and frustrated. I did my best to be there for him, but there wasn't much else I could do. I'm still here for him and I made sure that he is aware of that.

Now I can't wait to go to San Diego now with Berek on a real vacation just the two of us! It was nice meeting up with Ben, Val and Berek's dad, but I like having alone time with my sweetie! I'm very excited about the Comicon and I know we're going to have a great time. Not to mention that on that vacation we won't be rushed. We can do whatever we want on any given day. :D I can't wait!!!!!!!!
