Ah woe is me! I miss San Diego! The weather, the people, the city and the ocean! I miss it so much, I wanna go back!
Berek and I had so much fun on our vacation that I didn't want to leave. We went to the Comicon for a couple of days and then we went to the San Diego Zoo for a day. We drove around the city to see the sights and even took the trolley to the Comicon once. It was great! We also managed to squeeze in a trip to the Wild Animal Park. I loved it there! It was hot mind you, but it was definately worth it!
*sigh* I want to go back! We were supposed to go to the beach, but it was enough just to see the ocean in the distance. We never made it because of time and because we wanted to get as much as we could out of the other parts of San Diego (especially Comicon). Berek has promised to take me to the beach before the summer is up. Probably this coming Saturday or something.
The Comicon was a lot of fun and definately overwhelming at first. There was so much to do and so much to see that I was just blown away! I had fun though. I had only one complaint and that had to be the fact that I constantly got pushed around and slammed into by oblivious people. I got really pissed at that. I mean a guy even touched my shoulder just to push me out of the way so he could get by. PERSONAL SPACE PEOPLE!! You don't go touching people to get through. At least not purposely touching them to shove them out of the way.
We got lots of goodies at the Comicon too, including these really cute Marvel Minimates! I love them! We got Ultimate Spider-man and the Gray Hulk in one pack (Oh so cute, Gray Hulk's hair comes off...hee hee) and then Silver Surfer in another. We unfortunately missed out on the Peter Parker and Mary Jane pack, but it's alright. I'm happy with what we got. Besides, we don't know what we're missing anyway.
Berek's dad bought him Gimli's axe (too cool by the way) and it's going to be shipped to him soon. Berek's dad got me the Evenstar pendant that Arwen gives Aragorn. He got Ben's girlfriend Val, Galadriel's ring. I wanted to buy that ring for myself but first of all I wasn't sure I would want to spend $129 on myself for one item, but it was just as well anyway because it was too big for my finger. Berek and I also got Heroclix and lotsa buttons! Whoo hoo! Berek's trench looks great!
I love fairies and dragons so I found some great art of fairies at the con. The other thing that I found was a little shop just across the street from the convention center called "The Faerie Shop". It was a great little place with the most wonderful decor inside! They had a real orange tree decorated with lights and fairies and leaves (the tree obviously was dead). I bought two porcelain dragons from them and two necklaces. Very cool stuff.
Berek took me to The Old Spaghetti Factory...OMG!!! That was the best meal I had in a long while! After that, we went to the Ghiradelli Ice Cream and Soda Fountain Shop. MMMMMMMMMMMMM GOOOOD! I had just a simple strawberry ice cream cone, but he had an Alcatraz something or other. It was vanilla ice cream (I think) that was smothered in a chocolate shell that was as hard as a rock, plus whipped cream and nuts...Mmmmmm.
Berek claims I got bombed on our last afternoon in San Diego because I had one margarita at TGI Friday's and got pretty buzzed. But I stand by my story and I was merely buzzed. I remember everything that happened. Granted I was giggly, but that doesn't mean one is bombed does it?
Now that I'm back home, I miss the weather in San Diego, the hottest it got was 88 degrees. Plus, we were so near the beach there was a nice breeze blowing.
Plus, Joseph (the owner of Collar and Leash) wants to offer me the manager position for the West Hills store for a mere 45 cent increase! HA! He wants me to work 6 days a week too! Fat chance! School is way too important to me to work six days for a mere 45 cents more than I'm making now. Not to mention he wants to know where I'm going and what I'm doing on my days off! Psht! Yeah right. Ain't gonna happen. So I'm looking for a new job. *sigh* I want to go back to San Diego!!!!!!
