So today I've actually started to actively look and document potential wedding sites. There aren't a lot of pretty garden-like atmosphere's here in the Valley. I'm noticing now that my wedding is going to have to hit the road. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it will mean more work. Obviously, I will want to go and scout out the locations first before I commit to anything (and even then that's a long way off).

No we haven't pinpointed a date yet, but we're going for Spring 2008. At this point, the time of year is subject to change in the event that we decide otherwise. But we want to avoid the major wedding season so it is possible we may do a February Wedding. I definately don't want to do summer unless it's early summer and then you run into Wedding Season. It's difficult to determine when! I've been doing a lot of reading and if you avoid the Wedding Season, the prices come down a bit. Not much, but when you're very budgeted every cent counts.

We really haven't determined a budget yet either. My parents want to contribute as much as they can, but the difficulty here is they want to be sure they can pay for a good portion. Berek and I are pretty sure his family will be willing to put some money towards the wedding too, but I'm afraid my parents might feel as if they are being shoved aside and that their money is unappreciated. That's the last thing I want to do, because every penny they contribute means the world to me. I'm just not certain they understand that.

I have to get together with Val soon so that we can discuss more of my dress plans. I have found a great idea that has actually stuck with me. The thing of it is, I'm not sure if it'll work out for what I'm looking for. I saw an awesome dress in a wedding magazine that I'd like to replicate somewhat, but add a few of my own touches. My mom doesn't know what I've found yet, but I plan on talking to her. I just hope she doesn't flip out when I show her the style.

Berek of course has been sitting back and thinking how cute I am going through all the bridal magazines and clipping location pictures out and starting a journal on my wedding. I realized that I don't want to leave out any places I've spotted simply by skimming through magazines. I might lose out on a great place just because I couldn't remember which magazine I saw it in. (Plus, I'm bad with the names of these places)

So that's pretty much what I've been up to in the last couple of days. Skimming, clipping and brainstorming. It's all good though. It makes me happy. Besides, I just know that we're going to have a great wedding, because my family and I, and Berek and his family will come together and bring a lot to the table. :D

In any case, an update on my grandpa. He's okay. He's still with my mom at her house. He sometimes slips into momentary memory lapses like he forgot how he got to my mom's house, or he'll attempt to light his cigarette backwards...things like that, but all in all he's doing alright. No word yet on what exactly is going on, but I'm sure we'll hear something soon.
