So, let me start by saying that holidays like Christmas and New Years can be ever so stressful. Family can make it so, but honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Berek and I have been doing lots of stuff for the past weekend. We actually have been working around the apartment to get it clean as well as rearrange. For the past year we've been wanting to bring in a new bookshelf. (We have tons of books and no place to put them.) Finally, on Sunday, we did it. His dad had some bookshelves that he's been trying to get rid of and we were happy to help. :) (By the way, yay, it was raining most of the weekend! Woot!) We took a mid-sized bookshelf and brought it over (thank goodness we have a Rav4). We finally got most of our books up and out of the way. It also helps to make the room a little bit warmer and rich. I was surprised at how much of a difference a little ol' bookshelf can make.

In other news, Berek and I used the fitness room at our apartment building for the very first time yesterday! Woot! This is another part of our commitment to change our diets and help ourselves live a much healthier life. We worked out about 30 minutes yesterday and then rewarded ourselves by heading out to Barnes & Noble for awhile just to relax and hang out there. Afterwards, we headed home and that's when all hell broke loose.

I had prepared our dinner which was some prime rib and lemon cappellini. Berek wanted some sour cream on his prime rib and so he asked if I could check to see if we had an open container in the fridge (he had the unopened sour cream). I looked and CRASH! I knocked a bottle of chipotle ranch salad dressing off the top shelf and it shattered and splattered everywhere. I was so upset. What a waste, as well as I got ranch everywhere on my pj bottoms and my brand new slippers that a friend gave to me. Aargh!

Berek and I spent a good 20 minutes cleaning up the mess and making sure I was alright. Then after we ate dinner, I got up and got myself some ice cream and well...I knocked a box of waffles off and they fell onto the cat's water bowl and flipped it over and broke the damn thing! Aaargh! Berek then promptly sent me to bed (lest I broke something else). It was a good idea, I mean I couldn't do any damage to anything in bed right? Ha! I didn't damage anything, but I put some lotion on my recently overwashed hands. I took my ring off and set it on my chest (I was lying in bed). Something on the tv caught my attention and I watched it. Then...it was time to go to sleep. But wait...where was the ring? It wasn't on my finger! I flew out of bed and searched...Whew! At least it was only on the floor where I could see it. *sigh* Definately time for bed.

Yeesh...at least today is a new day.
