2006-04-03 3:07 PM Relaxing and Reflection Mood: Snacking on some carrots and mushrooms Read/Post Comments (0) |
So, today I had very little sleep! It's been awhile since I've been unable to sleep through the night. Not sure what that was about, but hopefully tonight I'll be sleepy enough to get some rest.
I woke up to go to school and got ready. I was so proud of myself, I got all my papers done (some before they were even due). I was going to turn in all my health papers in early. But, it does help when the teacher shows up to collect them! Aargh! To think, if not for these papers, I would've skipped the first class anyway! Phleh! Oh well. I had some extra time today to get some things done around the apartment. Then, I decided to relax a bit by playing some Animal Crossing. That is such a fun game and boy does it get me to relax. :) I went to CD at 11 as planned and of course it started raining. Yay! Woo hoo! Me like the rain. :D Class was very interesting today. We were on the topic of spanking. It seems a lot of people in the class have had a spanking at some time or another. It was very interesting to hear their takes on why spanking is not the preferred way of punishment. The professor even gave a story of when she went to Starbucks and saw a couple of boys play fighting rather rambunctiously. The mother's way of stopping the boys was hitting one and saying, "How many times do I have to tell you? Don't hit!" It doesn't take a genius to figure out that that doesn't make sense! We explored reasons people abuse children and the effects of the abuse on the children. Not exactly the happiest subject in the world, but interesting none the less. I, for one, have a new prospective on people in general. People who abuse children often don't have social networking to back them up, or they lack resources, or they themselves were victims of abuse and don't know any other way. So now, I'm just taking a break from studying so that I can relax and breathe. Sometimes I forget to do that and then I end up in a very bad mood or with a powerhouse headache!
