So a couple of really interesting things happened within the past couple of days.

First, Berek's dad has a gentleman caller. ;) Not in the sense that he has a human gentleman caller. Oh no, he has a gentleman caller of the feline persuasion. (Although, I just fully realized that it was male today.) A cat whom we're naming Cecil has adopted Dad for the time being. We're not sure if he's a stray, abandoned or just a friendly outdoor cat. So we're letting things lie a bit for now until Dad's trips are done with and then we're going to take the proper steps to see if he's got an owner and if he's healthy. If the former is non-existent, then Dad will have a kitty companion named Cecil. Cecil appears to be a Ragdoll mix. He's a very big kitty and he wanders in and out of Dad's house when he wants. (Dad's been leaving the door open for him.) He's a very friendly little bugger, but he did manage to scratch me today. My guess it was out of nervousness. So I'm not too pissed. :) In any case, whatever happens with Cecil, I'm thinking there will be a kitty companion for Dad in the future. (Muahahaha! I've converted another to kitties!)

Last night... (drum roll please) I ran my first D&D Campaign. It was great! It was absolutely awesome! It was going to be very short! Yes, both my 1st level druid and Berek's 1st level ranger got tooled by a goblin druid and a wolf! That was when Berek told me about DM cheating and "Hand of God"-type stuff. So, I cheated a bit...we didn't die but we got thoroughly f*ed up! Muahahahahahahaha! :) It was like the 2nd battle of the game and we got tooled by a scrawny goblin and it's animal companion! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Anyway, there's a lot more to this DMing than I ever imagined and I think it's going to take me a bit to get the hang of it. Hopefully, next time it'll be a bit easier.

Also, to make matters worse, my cats aren't as well-versed in D&D as Syd and Amber were. (Or maybe they are better, who knows.) Berek's ranger got eaten alive by the Kitty God Halloween...multiple times. The Kitty God even decided to pick off a few of the goblins that Berek's ranger wasn't fighting. You know the ones that were for future battles. (Unfortunately, he didn't pick off that goblin druid and his stinkin' animal companion!) Naboo decided to mess with my DM screen and book. Basically, I was reading from the Book of Naboo! Oy! I do so love my boyz!

That was pretty much it. :) It was fun! Heh. Soon we'll be adding another character. Liz has one made up already. (Hopefully, this ought to inspire Berek to run his game.) DID YOU HEAR THAT BEREK?! RUN YOUR GAME SOON!
