2007-02-12 11:04 AM Why do weekends come and go so fast? Mood: Content Read/Post Comments (0) |
I had an overall great weekend. I will say that it went by way too quickly!
Saturday: On Saturday, Berek and I went with my mother to look at invitations and some other wedding things. Berek and I also wanted to go to Michael's because we found the container for our favors there and they were on sale this weekend. :) Yay! Sale is good! We had originally settled on one idea, but they didn't have enough boxes so my mom came up with the idea to mix and match different ones. While that could've worked, I really wasn't too keen on the idea. It's like when you have two kids, if one kid has one thing and the other has another, inevitably they want the same exact thing. Thus, fighting can commence. I want to avoid that feeling from the guests (even though I doubt anyone would fight over it) so it's better to avoid it altogether. So my mom actually found a better container that made much more sense. I mean our idea was cute, but this will work out just as good if not better. It was exhausting though. My mom definately has her ideas and I have mine and Berek has his and unfortunately is sort of stuck in the middle! (I love you BABY! Thanks for dealing!) So after our little jaunt and our first $100 spent on the wedding that isn't related to the wedding site, we dropped my mom off at home. My dad had some freshly prepared kielbasa made and it was delightfully flavorful! I love polish food! :) It was so good that I had to keep going for it. ;) Berek nearly had to drag me to the car to keep me from going back for more. :) Even my parents were like, "Get the hell outta here!" ;) It was neat. I am very happy that I got to hang out with them for awhile before we left the house. My mom doesn't seem to be dealing with her dad's death. I know that it's not easy. I'm still dealing with it myself, but it would appear that it isn't hitting her and maybe it won't until we get his ashes back and perform our little memorial for him. She got very defensive when she mentioned that she loves to do beading and I told her she should look into doing it again since she has the time now and she doesn't have to care for anyone. I understand that maybe it was out of line, but I explained to her that it might help with getting through it. Afterall, I've been a cross-stitching maniac since grandpa died. It has helped relax me. (Save for the nasty crick in my neck that I've had since Friday...fortunately, it's getting better.) I hope that she works things out within herself. Anyway, after that Berek and I went to Border's and I was feeling kind of blah. Berek surprised me with my Valentine's Day present early. He bought me The Dungeon Master's Guide for Dummies. :) That cheered me up! He really likes to play in my game (which I know has been on hiatus for various reasons)! This makes me feel really good. Plus, maybe he can use it to run his game with Liz and I! (HINT, HINT! NUDGE, NUDGE!) Then we picked up Ben and went to dad's house to make sure that Cecil (dad's adopted kitty) was okay since he was out of town for a day or two. Then Liz called and we all decided to go out to dinner. We went to LA Buffet. The food was really good. I dig the potstickers! :) I also had lots of fruit. Strawberries and bananas in particular. Liz had never been there and she was a little unsure of what to get. She had some great squid there. :) I'm glad that she enjoyed it. I know that we enjoyed her company. Ever since being sick and my grandpa's death life had seemed on-hold. Now things are slowly getting back to normal. I missed hanging out with her so much! It was nice getting back to normal. Liz and I hung out at the apartment, Ben went back to house-sitting for Val's parents, and Berek was futzing around on the internet. Liz and I watched Monday's Heroes because she had missed it. Then we went on my computer and started viewing old photos and videos. She and I both agree that we need more video and photo sessions. :) Sunday: Not much happened here, save for some house work. Berek went to Heroclix and I decided to stay and finish up some house work. I cleaned the bathroom and ran some laundry. I needed to do something since Berek ran my load of dishes early that morning. ;) (Thank you baby!) So I ran 3 loads of clothes and cleaned our bathroom from top to bottom. Heck, I even cleaned the tub, which I hate with a passion. Then after that, I decided that I was going to play City of Heroes! Oh that was fun! It was nice getting back in to play. Who knew that I could do so after the semester started? :) I know it'll be short lived since I'll have a lot more things to work on as the semester progresses. I am enjoying it while I can. :) I did do a bit of reading for school, but not a lot. Then Berek came home and we ran to the Whole Foods to get our groceries for the week. We still have to make a small run to Ralphs, but that can be done tonight or tomorrow night. Heck, I might stop on my way home this evening. Now, it's Monday and I soooo didn't want to get up this morning. The boyz, however, made it nearly impossible to sleep a wink past 6:00a.m. They usually do make it impossible. At least the crick in my neck isn't impairing my ability to fall asleep like it did Friday night. :) I take what I can get. :) Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
