Yesterday, I tried out a new system of workout. I bought this DVD some time ago that was a beginner's guide to Pilates. Now pilates is very similar to yoga, but it actually is more helpful in weight loss and it is more along the lines of strength training. Plus, pilates doesn't focus as much on the spiritual aspect of an organism like Yoga does.
It felt really good. So good that I fell asleep while studying (after my pilates routine). Oy! Berek came home at 8 o'clock and he had to wake me up because it was too early for me to be sleeping. We had a great dinner! I made chopped salad and we used some of my mom's corned beef and cabbage. During which, we watched Unwrapped (love that show). It was nice to just be able to relax after he got home. The cats were being brats yesterday so I had my hands full with them climbing up everywhere and knocking stuff around. Oy! They quieted down though when he got home. (They were tired from their earlier excursions! Brats! Ah, I love them anyway.) I didn't bother studying anymore since the material put me to sleep. Ah well, it was a nice nap and I can't remember the last time I took a nap. :) Today, I'm not sore but I can feel the muscles that I worked out yesterday. That is a really cool feeling! I'm thinking that I might take a pilates class this summer. They don't offer it at Pierce, but there is a studio in Woodland Hills that charges $15 a class. Yeah, that could be expensive, but if I do it every other week as a supplement to my current routine...it could be really good for me! :) Yay!
