Yesterday, I had an appointment to make at 6:30 at the preschool of a Pierce instructor. She was going to help me with a part of my project that requires me to talk to a director of a pre-k program. Well, I had to drive home first because I needed to feed Da Boyz lest they tear the apartment apart. Then, I had to run back to Northridge/Van Nuys border for the interview that I was doing on the director. I made it just in time.
On my way over to the school, (I parked down the street a ways because I wanted to have a short walk.) I noticed a dog that was wandering around in a yard. It was a little black and white dog. A woman walking a larger dog had previously passed by and left the dog there. So I stopped and noticed that the dog was wearing two collars. One was an electronic barrier collar and the other was the regular collar. I figured that the dog was able to get through the electronic barrier. So I was attempting to get the info off the tag, but the dog wouldn't hold still and I didn't dare try to pick him up. So I just bided my time and nearly got the number when a guy came out of the house and explained that the dog sits there because he has the electronic barrier at the edge of his yard. (I didn't think this was a smart idea, but whatever!) So thankfully, I tried to do my part. That was my good deed for the day even if it wasn't needed. So I finished making my way to the school. Once there I went around the back because that was where I had to enter from before because the intercom is there. However, this time the outer parking gate was closed and locked. Umm...okay? So I walked around to the front (it's a house that was converted to a preschool) and tried the doorbell twice. Nothing happened. No one appeared to be there. I called the number and left a message. Then I noticed that there was a van that was parking. It turned out that they were the cleaners coming by to clean for the evening. I talked to them and they said that she wouldn't be there at this time of day. *sigh* Great! Was I supposed to meet her at Pierce? I called Berek who by this time was still at work (near 7p.m.). I had him go over the e-mails we exchanged and there was nothing found that was possibly misleading! I was supposed to meet her there at 6:30! Oy! So I left there for home in a huff! I almost stopped off and got Jack in the Box, but I told myself that that wouldn't make me any better off and I'd be more likely pissed off at myself. So I went a different way home so as to avoid any temptation. When I got home I decided that instead of playing video games (that's what I designated as my free activity this week) I was going to watch some movies. I put on Never Been Kissed as well as 50 First Dates. (I was in a Drew Barrymore kind of mood!) They were fun and cute and slightly uplifting. I was a little annoyed because Berek wasn't home by the time I went to bed at nearly 11p.m., but it was expected. I knew he had to get his game out the door. However, I was more than perturbed when he wandered in at 4:30 in the morning! But, that's his thing and he can deal with it. I just hope that this will be it for the next month or two...
