2007-04-25 11:49 AM Dental Work... Mood: Slightly painful, but nothing I can't handle... Read/Post Comments (0) |
So yesterday I had my first round of dental work done. :) It wasn't pleasant per se, but it wasn't a horrible experience either. I had 3 cavities so they put composite fillings in.
I listened to my ipod the entire time they were working on me, but let me tell you, that drill sound is much worse when you hear it through your skull! Oy! Still, the dentist was very gentle and explained everything that she was doing. I think the weirdest part of it was the numbing of my mouth! I was a tad droolie and my speech was slurred, but overall a very interesting feeling. The next step is to have my wisdom teeth removed. I actually found out that all 4 of my wisdom teeth are present, but only 3 have punched through the gumline. Oy! So that's not a good thing! That means that the oral surgeon is going to have to go in after that one. *sigh* Ah well. My oral surgeon consultation is June 1st. I'm hoping to schedule the surgery on a Friday so that I can have the weekend to recover from it. If nothing else, I'll go on a Thursday, try to work through Friday and then have the weekend to recover. Once I have my wisdom teeth removed my next step is the orthodontist. At this point I just want a consultation and to see how much this is going to cost me out of pocket. I don't much care to have straight teeth as much as I care to have my teeth by the time I'm 90! The oral hygenist explained to me the problem with having teeth out of whack the way mine are (she didn't phrase it as such) and that isn't a pleasant thing. I can't effectively get between my teeth with floss or the brush because of their current placement. This could lead to disastrous tooth decay. So here's hoping it won't cost me too much and maybe I'll have straight teeth. :) Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
