I'll admit, although I've heard that Pitch Black kind of sucked, I'm curious about The Chronicles of Riddick. The trailer I saw looked really cool, and I love Judi Dench. (Vin's fun to watch, too.) Hey -- I'll have, what, two degrees of separation from the film, since I worked on David Twohy's The Arrival (and, up until the last batch of cleaning out my aunt's house before she moved, I had one of the broken models from one of the efx scenes in my cabinet there.)

But I've suddenly become a lot more interested in Van Helsing. I mean, of course Hugh is eminently edible, but I just found out that the movie's been written and directed by Stephen Sommers -- the guy behind the two recent Mummy films.

WooHoo!

Shawn and I have been discussing ways of still getting out to see movies after the baby arrives. Currently, we're considering a tag-team approach: I'll see an afternoon show while he stays with kid, he'll see an evening show while I take baby watch, then we get together and share. I like it. It's unconventional. And we'd still get to see the new Harry Potter movie (and anything else that comes out May or beyond) in a Real Theater.

(After that last entry, I thought I deserved to babble a bit about fluff. Life is balance, after all.)

: )
