Last night, while I was doing dishes, I watched Hunter contentedly take videos and CDs off a shelf in the living room. I mentally shrugged: it would be a mess, but he didn't seem to be hurting himself or anything else.

Suddenly, he stopped. He'd found a jewel case with a clear front cover so he could actually see the CD inside. He sat down and examined it, turning it around in his hands.

He moved over and pulled himself up to reach the DVD player. He started banging on the front (fortunately blocked with a plastic child-guard) with the CD case, trying to figure out how to make it work.

Did I mention we were in trouble?
