My Secret Pal from work last year gave me a board book shaped like a 3-D frog for Hunter. Inside, the story is about Frog, who tries to learn how to move so she can go for a walk with her friend, Little Mouse.

After we read through the story last night (complete with requisite foot-wiggling and arm-flapping), Hunter turned to the first page and looked at Little Mouse. Then he flipped through to the last page where we again meet up with Little Mouse and pointed, saying, "Dat!" He went back and forth between the two pages, verifying that yes, they were the same character/animal.

Then he reached over to my bedside stand and got his Noah's Ark book. Since he often likes to read two books before bed, I didn't think too much about it as he turned the pages. But then he stopped at the part where God told Noah to bring two frogs and pointed and said, "Dat!" And then he picked up the frog book and showed me.

Such a smart little boy. I gave him lots and lots of kisses and told him how wonderful he was.
