I finished the F. Paul Wilson book CRISSCROSS last night, and have to say I enjoyed it. I believe there is one newer book out in hardcover, but I haven't located it yet.

To think that this series could get darker than it has already been is sort of unbelievable, but this one does. Or maybe my memory is failing. But geez, Wilson doesn't worry about what *I* think when he's writing a character's story. So what if I like someone? So what if I'd like to see more of a particular character?

The idea of Dormentalism as a "religion" sort of like Scientology is intriguing. I don't know anything about L. Ron Hubbard's creation except that they're supposed to be secretive. And of course, anyone or thing secretive is fair game for speculation about hidden agendas, whether in fiction or real life.

Of course, Dormentalism has an agenda that ties in with Jack's nemesis, the Otherness.

The story of a guy who lives outside the system, with basically no official identity, who goes around "fixing" problems for clients could make for a good series all by itself, sort of an Equalizer on steroids. But toss in the supernatural angle, and you get one heck of an original series. Maybe not to everyone's tastes, but I finished this book in about 3 days of limited reading time. I was reading it at stoplights, at lunch, before bed, and anywhere I could steal a couple moments. A tough one to put down.

Enjoy, if you choose to read it!
