Ringing in the New Year

Happy New Year reader(s)!

We decided to spend a couple days in Chicago for the weekend around New Year's Eve. Got a room at an Embassy Suites hotel near Navy Pier, the kids love it because they sort of have their own room with their own TV and their own bed and such, and we like it because breakfast is included. For my wife and I, it wouldn't be so important; we are not big breakfast eaters anyway. But when you have little kids, you gotta go get them fueled up in the morning. And then of course there is the pool.

We were supposed to go to my wife's uncle's place for NYE after dinner, but when we got there, her aunt came down with such pain that they had to call 911 and bring her to the ER. Gall stones are the apparent cause.

We checked out the next day, and went to the Museum Of Science and Industry. My kids loved it! Much better than Navy Pier's Children's Museum, which is also pretty good (and which we also did over the weekend). And I liked it just fine, too.

We ate too much, as usual, and so I resolved to try to get a bit healthier in 2007. I think I can drop a couple pounds pretty easily, and maybe it is time to get back on the treadmill and on the stationary bike. We'll see.

Hope everyone else had a good safe weekend!
