Rough night

Wow.

Lack of sleep starting to catch up with me.

We have a sick kid (our older boy). He has some sort of virus which causes him to spike a fever bad at 12 hour intervals, and lesser temperatures in between. So the middle of the night calls for wakeup times to check on him and give him meds if needed.

Last night, besides that stuff, we had a pretty good storm. It was raining hard and blowing. Suddenly our doorbell starts ringing (maybe at about 3 or a little after), like someone is pushing it over and over. Went to the front door. No one there. It stops.

Again at something around 5 am. Same thing. Rings and rings, then stops when I get down to check on it.

Once more a few minutes after 6. Only one ring that time.

I'm thinking it's gotta be a short, maybe water blew into the box or something and caused it to start ringing.

My wife called the guy who put it in (over a year ago) and he wouldn't promise that he'd be out today, but he'd try. She told him if he didn't, and it does it again tonight, we wouldn't promise that we'd still have the thing in the wall the next morning.

He says he'll try to come out and see what's up.

I hope he does. Nothing wakes you and gets your heart rate up like a doorbell ringing over and over again in the middle of the night...
