The Last of the Big Three
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Read/Post Comments (1)

I see that Arthur C. Clarke died yesterday (March 18).

That leaves us with none of the "Big Three" of science fiction left (the other two being Heinlein and Asimov).

I thought Clarke was a rather sterile writer but the man had one hell of an imagination. I loved the 2001 series (of course the first was the best by a lot, and I haven't read 3001 yet), and I loved the Rama books (again, the first was by far the best). And there were others that don't come to me at this exact moment that were enjoyable, also.

Another giant of SF is gone, and he will be missed...
