We picked up the latest (or perhaps just a very recent) issue of National Geographic magazine at Costco. The cover story is about Iran. It also includes a nice map of Iran today and of the Persian Empire of ancient times.

There is a bit of history and cultural information in this article, which is well written, in my opinion.

It would be an excellent thing for anyone to read, but especially for those who think they know a lot about Iran and its culture and goals, like some of our current politicians.
