I got the first bug in the eye of the season at work on Wednesday. Right there on hole #15 while mowing the fairway. Good times. I tend to just let the eye work it out by blinking instead of rubbing at it.

You know, sunglasses help deflect bugs. They're not just for the UV rays.

I got a rejection from Talebones this week. The story made it to the final round, but didn't quite make it in. That's the story with this particular story. It's been around, even came close to selling to Tales Of The Unanticipated. I'm keeping it in the mail and I'll find the right market and right editor yet.

I'm going to write my next novel fast, or in other words, a short period of time with consistent writing every day. It sucks writing a novel with starts and stops and months with no working on it. Bleah.

I'm also going to try outlining the novel first. And it's not going to be a paint by numbers thing. I just need to answer some questions for myself before I begin. I think I need more of an idea as to where I'm going with a novel. A guide, as opposed to a well-detailed map.

First, I must finish my current novel. Then I can worry about the next one. I might have more work in store for me even after I'm done with the first draft. Oh, boy.

Onward and upward.
