2010-08-11 2:15 AM Tribute to a Friend. This entry will be dedicated to a friend of mine, who sadly is no longer with us...
It is my cat Alien. Around a month ago, he left and never came back. This is the reason why I've been waiting so long to make an entry, since I was still holding out hope that he will return. He didn't... Which is why I decided to make at least something to keep his memory. He's been with us for a long time. I don't remember exact number, but I think it is close to 9 years. Alot happened during that time. But I can only say it has been good. We got him after our previous cat was cut at very young age, when a car hit him. See, this is just one of reasons I don't like cars. Of course, driver was a complete coward and ran off without doing anything to help... Anyway, some time after that passed, and then we got Alien. Like most of our cats, he had a home somewhere previously, but was kicked out. Maybe people got bored with him, didn't want to take care of him, I don't know. I hate people like that... When we decided to keep him, he was still young. So it was alot of fun. Playing with him, and everything. As years passed, he became less willing to play, but it was still alright, since he was a good cat. He didn't display his emotions that much, but we knew he loves us, and we felt the same. I am just glad he was able to live full, happy life, never having to worry about anything. Once we even saved him from death, when he got locked in into warehouse, and nearly hanged himself. Luckily, we were able to hear him, and saved him before it was too late. He had many interesting personality traits. If we went somewhere, he would follow us, wait, and then come back with us when we returned. He never got lost, not a single time. He always recognized the sound of our car, and would come out when he heard it. I never understood how he recognized it, since quite alot of cars pass road which is next to my home. It was quite amazing. He was a cat that you could really say was independent for the most part. He would spend most of his time outside, as long as weather would permit it. He wasn't even afraid of rain. In fact, there were very few things that scared him. He was really brave. He was never afraid of any dog, and could even give a good run to one if necessary. It was really funny to me to watch dogs being afraid of him, and not the other way around. He could also survive for long on his own. Sometimes, he would go missing for weeks, and then return safe and fine. It always impressed me, and that is why I was holding out hope he would still return. It's just that this time he was really sick, and been missing for so long... And speaking of sicknesses, he always was a true fighter. Always fought off any diseases he had, and never gave up. Whenever anyone would write him off and say that he will not be able to survive, he would always prove everyone wrong, and recover just fine. That's the sign of a true fighter. Sad that this time disease got him... All in all, I am happy that I knew him, and shared many good moments. It was all worth it. I really will miss him. Maybe he was just a cat, but I can always proudly call him a friend, and I will always have the memories...
Goodbye, my friend. I will not forget you, and I hope someday I'll see you again... Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
