Here are three links that have made me happy over the last few days:

  • Kate Elliott's advice on unifying multi-volume (and multi-POV) novels. Her post makes so much intuitive sense and really clarifies some issues (especially in terms of plot layering) that I've been grappling with for a while. Whether you're a reader of her novels or not, if you're a writer, this post is definitely worth reading!

  • Another reason to love Emma Thompson (via krismcd59): Emma Thompson threatened to walk off the new production of Brideshead Revisited if the producers forced a younger (and already-perfectly-proportioned) actress to lose weight - and the producers caved. Yay Emma!

  • Via Laini Taylor, a Japanese TV show that makes me desperate to understand either Japanese or Italian (into which it was dubbed): Lady Oscar, "a cartoon about Marie Antoinette's kickass female bodyguard!"

Even without understanding either language, this montage of scenes from the show makes it crystal-clear: this show was made for me! If learning Japanese or Italian is the only way to watch it...well, I'll figure something out.

    Check it out!
