Hooray! I defeated the cold and managed to revise two short stories today, leaving only one waiting piteously for attention and final polishing. (The problem is, it's always so much more interesting to write first drafts than to revise...especially when it comes to third and fourth drafts...so sometimes they have to wait a Really Long Time.) So I am feeling nicely productive today, and have already sent out one of the stories to start earning its way in the world. (The other one is waiting for Patrick to read it before I give it the final seal of approval.)

Having been productive this morning, of course I've totally slacked off this afternoon - first we went to Borders (where I had a gorgeous Signature hot chocolate) and then to the pub for fresh, hot chips (fries). Mmmmm... Since we got home, I've been windowshopping, checking out all the gorgeous new additions of jewelry and art at Nalo Hopkinson's Etsy shop. I've bought a couple of really beautiful pieces from her in the past, including one perfectly Kat-themed locket that I keep on my writing desk as a constant inspiration. I love her new piece "Mermaid's Trove", a beautiful beach sea glass pendant & necklace; I also love her "Deconstructed Music Box: Regret", which is eery and magical. The best thing is that everything in her shop is genuinely affordable, starting around $4.00...which makes everything oh-so-tempting...if you like jewelry or fantasy art, you should definitely check her shop out!
