Went to T3 with Marshall and Frank last night. We hit the new AMC in Burbank (they closed the 14 and have a big complex across the way with all stadium seating) which was really nice. I enjoyed the movie, very comic-book like storyline at this point. It was pretty dark, and I don't think there will be a 4th. I liked the story, and there were some fab chase scenes.

My only complaint, and simply because it's a pet peeve and is a common flaw of many action movie IMHO, was during several pursuits the person or people being chased pause for no good reason (they're scared, they pause to cry or scream, or they stop to look behind them, etc.) while being chased. They did this for about a dozen times. It didn't ruin the movie for me, and I know why it's done in movies, but it makes me want to scream at the screen "Just Keep Running!!! It's going to get you!!!" Now, this doesn't bother everyone I know, and is an effective tension builder, especially for slasher moves, which I absolutely enjoy (can't wait for Freddy Vs. Jason) but I like to think that the characters being pursued are smart enough to just keep running.

So, not bad for a sequel. Saw Charlie's Angels last Thursday. THAT was an awesome sequel! Almost to the point where it felt that the first one was really testing the waters but this one was the one they really wanted to make. The budget was bigger, and it was really fun. If you're looking for a fun movie and hot chicks shakin their bon bons (yes I mean asses) then this is the film for you. Drew was great (she's my fave of the three) and there were a lot of cameos (Carrie Fisher, Bruce Willis, Pink).

Can't wait for tomorrow's public display of geekiness. Group of 55, all in pirate costumes, at the El Cap! It's gonna be GREAT!

Maybe I do watch too many movies...

So karaoke last night consisted of fairly good renditions of Spice Girls (Say You'll Be There) and Sublime (What I Got). Also did some Rent and some Six Pence. All of us got in about 4 songs each because it was pretty empty. Erik kicked ass, Marshall kicked ass, and some of the regulars were doing pretty great too. It was fun to get Frank outta the house and hanging out with us although he didn't sing anything. (he wasn't feeling well)

I think both Erik and myself slightly miscalculated the number of drinks that should be consumed on a weeknight. I for one should know better by now. No public boneheadedness this time around (as you may have observed at prior excursions) but some general friendliness (yeah, you can read that as flirting) did ensue. Next week, sparkling mineral water may just be the way to go for the majority of the evening. :) Only slight headache this morning.

So my lucky bastard of a dear friend Kody (love ya Kody) sent me the following:

" um, who spent last night partying through the streets of Okinawa with TONIC last night after their free concert? Oh, that would be me... Not, "hey they went here and there and I tagged along..." No, as in the entire
band and myself partying, drinking, being devious and having philosophical
discussions on life, love and of course music until past 4 AM. Yeah... I rock!

Fight on!

Kody"

I just dig celebrity encounters.

Additional randomness, looks like I'll be missing the Cyndi Lauper/Meatloaf concert this month. Just kinda ran outta money due to muco ticket buying and movie going.

One of these days, I'll learn how to prioritize and how to budget.

Well, on to more busywork and gathering of questions and concerns for my call to the boss tomorrow... Ciao!
