So I finally have a permanent desk area that I can start settling into (been bouncing around getting oriented and whatnot while things got situated) and realized that my desk was really bare.

While at lunch, I walked by a little street fair/farmer's market that is apparently right outside my office building every Thursday afternoon.

One of the booths had plants, water lillies and bamboo in big jars of water so I figured that a little bamboo plant would add a nice touch to my desk.

They also had betta fish in little cups.

I failed to initially realize that the betta fish came with the plant. There was a little bit of a language/accent complication when talking to the girl who ran the booth. Once I put together that feesee meant fishy and that the fish food was 3 dollars, and not 30 dollars, and that the total price for the beautiful vase like bowl, plan, glass marbles, food and fish came to a measly 16 dollars, I had a little purple and silver friend, and a bamboo with wooden lady bugs and something that looks like a candy, but it's glass, hanging from it, coming home with me.

I have named him Finz, cause he has l33t mad fishy skillz. :)
