Stopping to Smell the Flowers

So I actually did stop to smell the flowers today, I even took a picture of one with my camera phone.

Do you ever get the feeling that time has managed to speed up, and is just zooming by? First, it's Monday, you have the whole week ahead of you, and then WHAM! it's Friday already and the whole week was kind of a blur, and then, you sit and realize that it's the last day of the month that had barely gotten started...

Yeah, that has been how it has been, which really explains, among other things, my lack for journal entries.

I've gotten in some movie and TV watching, and still have no idea how. Saw a screening of The Producers in the very smokey Sherman Oaks Galleria last night. Erik's catching up on a few episodes of Firefly and we'll be catching Serenity at some point this weekend, among a couple of haunted house places and Knotts Scary Farm.

The Producers was great, though I think they made a critical error if they do indeed leave out the main song that was omitted for the screening. Very much as funny as the stage show I saw in New York with almost the whole original cast except Uma Thurman and Will Ferrel (who was surprisingly reeled in)

Exocisim of Emily Rose was pretty cool, downright creepy, and really scary at parts. There was just enough non-horror-movie drama to make it even more interesting. Just Like Heaven was a fun little movie, I enjoyed it a great deal. Flightplan was clever and did really have me for a while. And that was just within the past week. :)

Work has been hella busy. I finally have a new person for Service Desk starting on Monday, so will be busy training them, but then things will calm down a bit, hopefully, at least until the move across the streets, which is a beautiful building with gorgeous ponds, lots of ducks, grass and trees, and water fountains.

So, today I have decided to make another concerted effort to lose some weight, and get into better shape. I looked at the scale, and yep, am back up. It also didn't help that as I was on the bus, moving towards a seat that some dude was also moving towards, some older dude shouted "C'mon man! Let the pregnant woman have a seat! Don't be like that." *grumble* Stupid fuckin people. Grr. Anyways, I'm gonna go out and get some food and whatnot. We'll see what else the weekend has in store. :)

But anyways,

And, for your amusement,
Wasn't this a charming little movie?
