So being on call allows one to really demonstrate their ability and willingness to step up to anything that comes up, cordinate and manage them correctly. Of course, when one is occupied by work stuff from the time one comes home, till 11, 2 nights in a row, one gets a bit stressed, especially when going to sleep knowing that the pager can go off at any time.

I woke up several times last night, either thinking it was time ti get up, or thinking the pager went off. I was dreaming about work, or working on issues from home, almost teh whole night.

I finally woke up from a dream that I was working for my current company, but was doing it from my old USC office. The people who worked there were some people from Edmunds, some from EDS, some from USC, and some gamers that I LARP with. I was working on an Oracle programming project (which I don't actually know how to do) and workmates saw that I was stressed, and told me to go to KFC across the street for boness bbq wings (there is no KFC across the street from USC, and on my way there, this homeless person who I used to see at USC all the time, seemed sad, so I went up to him, and he started screaming and throwing little pickles at me...

I woke up, and thought the whole thing odd, and while in the shower, it hit me... I had just dreamed part of a "Real Genius" quote.

Weird.

On my way to work, the ducks at the pond were performing more standup. One duck would quack away, then the others would all quack together as if laughing at a punchline.

Today may just be one of those surreal days.
