Slightly Cheesy

I am in one of those uncharacteristically wonderful moods today. I’d like to say that this mood is uninfluenced by the events of the weekend, but that would pretty much make me a liar. My weekend was so excellent, in fact, that I’m afraid to go into the details of what exactly made it so good for completely superstitious reasons (relaying the source of my optimism might, ultimately, cause everything to crumble, thereby reverting me into my cynical self again).

Ah…screw it.

Friday night after work I headed to the west side to meet he-who-I-never-gave-my-number-to for drinks and one of those amazing conversations where you cover everything from world cultures, physics, evolvement of UFO sightings as technology progresses, politics, problems with the Democratic party, religion, books, what we’d do with our lives if we didn’t have to work, and the key principles with which one should live by. It was great. The fact that I’d worked sixteen-hours and stayed awake for over twenty-four hours in order to take part in the conversation did not phase me a bit. I could’ve stayed way past seven am, which is when I finally left.

My plans on Saturday eventually gave way to complete exhaustion. I slept much of the day away, foregoing my intention of frolicking in the woods. Ended up meeting a friend and her sister for drinks and retired early to recharge my batteries some more.

Sunday I had to cancel my plans to go to the art museum with Friday night boy in order to go to a party that I’d completely forgotten about in my euphoric state. I escaped early and ended up going out to dinner with the guy, which, again, was really cool. I’m really looking forward to the coming weeks. I’m thinking they will be pretty darn interesting.

Yeah.
