Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching." - Anon

I cannot believe we are celebrating Memorial Day. I always think of this holiday as being around the 30 or 31 not the 28. This is a big time for me because today would have been my Dad's 82nd birthday and his Aunt, my Great Aunt's 93rd birthday. Every year, I take down their photos and put them in a place of prominence and light a candle for them. It is hard to believe they both are gone as well as my Grandfather.

So far it has been quiet in the neighborhood. The sun is out and the temperatures are decent. There is a bit of a breeze but it feels quite good coming through the sliders and windows. The blue jays are coming in for the suet, the sunflower seeds, and a drink of water. I also hear the doves.

Bailey is in his chair watching all the comings and goings of the birds.

The small birds have not returned nor the hummingbirds. The hummingbirds surprise me since the bottle brush bush is in bloom. As soon as I see them, I will put the feeder out for them.

I needed another day home to putter around the house. It was fun to watch Meet the Press. I have been working on the housing authority paperwork and reading my current book.

Michael has helped me around the apartment with little projects. I am glad to see him feeling better.

I can't believe we missed the Indianapolis 500 race. It is an annual event around here but this is what happens when one does not have all the channels to watch. Oh well, I'll have to check it out on the 'Net.

Not much else is happening around here. I guess I will call it a day.
