Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"You simply have to put one foot in front of the other and keep going. Put blinders on and plow right ahead." - George Lucas

This morning I motivated myself and Michael into getting up early and we went on our walk. I did use my hat as a type of blinder. It sure helps when I want to put some mileage on and keep up with Michael.

While out we talked with one of the guys on the road crew who is preparing our little burg for the sewer. This guy (we didn't get a name) was very nice and talked about the project. They are going to be in the area for the next two years. He also spoke about the residents who have expanded their landscaping out onto county property. These enhancements may have to be dug up or dug under depending on what has been done. Personally, I'm glad I live in an apartment complex.

What I am not looking forward to is whether or not the housing authority is going to pass on the cost in higher rent. We can't afford any more rent than we are paying but who's to know. This is one of those times I remind myself to stay in the moment.

A great thing this morning is that we have been going round and round on how to come up with funds to get a new battery for Michael's glucose reader. Duh! He had given me $8 when we were at Foods 4 Less earlier this week. We started out for Ace Hardware, when it came to me that I had received a $5 off card.

We walked back home to get the card. In looking it over I didn't see anything where it said I would have spend a certain amount to get to use that $5. Well, we shall see. We found the battery for Michael and I wanted to get some suet for the birds. When all was tallied up, it came to $3 and change. Hey, this is a great day.

On the way back we stopped at a business we weren't aware of. They had some great artwork on their walls. The business is Light Photographic Workshops. Wow, there was some wonderful artwork on canvas. They also give workshops. We had a lovely tour of the business. I inquired about getting a copy of a piece of art I am giving away for a gift but I want a copy for my portfolio. I think they may be able to help me and not cost me an arm and a leg.

I just love getting to know our local merchants. They are so nice even though we didn't purchase a thing.

After the visiting, Michael helped me to get ready to do laundry. This is where I miss my washer and dryer. But then, I have a period of time, while waiting for my clothes to be done, that I have to myself. I listened to a CD and read my library book. I texted Michael when I was close to being done and he came to retrieve me and the laundry and brought us home. Okay, now I am tired and ready to call it quits for the day. I am glad we got the bed made and all the clean clothes are put away.

I had thought about vacuuming the carpet but that shall wait until tomorrow. This gal is done for the day.
