Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

When in doubt - clean!

Besides my usual stuff, today I got down on my hands and knees - thank heavens for the mister's knee pads - and scrubbed the kitchen floor. Oh my, know wonder my wet Swiffer pads were coming up grubby each week. I used Pledge Multi Floor Cleaner, a wet rag, a bristled scrub brush and a tooth brush.

Let me tell you, there was grime on that there floor! Even though I had been mopping once a week.

It was amazing how much better I felt mentally, emotionally, and physically with that hard work. As my sponsor kidded me about saying prayers on my knees and here I was.

So, I have been trying to keep a routine, doing things that take care of me and then using the tools of my Al-Anon program. I've been going to meetings, reading the literature, calling members, and even attending a few open AA meetings to learn about the disease of alcoholism.

A few changes have been made but not with the drinking. So when it occurs, I have taken myself to another room and meditated, read, do art work, and listen to music. Plus, call my sponsor every day.

She said in taking this time to get right with myself in this situation is strengthening my program and getting right in my heart and head so I when I have to make a choice it will be an informed one and not just a knee-jerk decision.

So, I have been getting out walking every day but one.

Rain Drops

I don't know if this photo shows those rain drops very well. It was raining just hard enough that I chose not to go walking as I didn't want to get soaked. I don't need to get sick.

But with rain comes the little blessings of seeing the results of the rain we have gotten. Here is one of a cute plant I saw this morning while walking.

Appreciation of the Rain

There were several of these little plants along side of the road. I will have to keep track of them to see what they turn into.

There were gray clouds in the sky and it looked like it could rain again but then here is some blue peeking out.

Blue Skies

And then there is this one. I get the feeling that it won't rain today. Here I was ready to curl up in my chair and read. Oh well.

More Blue Skies

Yeah, I live in paradise.

Thank you all for your love and support.

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy.Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

-- Jose N. Harris, MI VIDA

"I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." - William Penn, English entrepreneur and philosopher
