A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

If it's written down, I know it (If it's not written down, I don't know it)
If it's color-coded, I understand it (If it's not color-coded, I don't understand it)

Photos from Short Cuts

It's "NaNoWriMo" (National Novel Writing Month) and "ArEvDaMo" (Art Every Day Month) and other "I'm gonna blog, journal, craft, post, photograph, etc. this month" among many of my friends. I decided I'd try for "Get More Pictures Online As Many Days As Possible Month" (GeMoPiOnAsMaDaAsPoMo), but I will admit that acronym is a bit unwieldy. *grin*

First, just some images from yesterday's entry:

The little camera sleeve I made

The sleeve is lined with the anti-static bag that the camera came in originally, and sewn from fabric scraps that came in a gift basket. Two friends made me a basket of homemade caramels, truffles, and cookies for Estrella one year. I saved all the adorable fabric scraps, on the off chance I might use them in small sewing projects eventually. The outside is a nice olive/forest green linen. The inside is a very sturdy striped fabric with shimery gold and green spots. The button has a green-opal sheen (that doesn't show accurately in the photo), and the button loop is a green cotton lucet cord that I carry in one of my belt pouches as an emergency "I forgot to bring something to work on!" project at SCA events. It's the first time I've *used* this green cord, and I just love that I have things like this in my stash. And the whole bag? I sewed entirely by hand, as I watched TV at home -- both my own favorite shows and episodes of Project Runway with my roomie.

A couple of albums added to my photo site

Theresa's Celebration

Theresa had a celebration, welcoming her fully into Judaism. These are a couple of pictures with her rabbi, husband, sibling-in-laws, and of course Benji was cute and adorable and perfect for my camera.

Halloween with Saul and Amy, 2009

The annual Halloween bash, hosted by Saul and Amy, where my friends show up in a disturbingly high porportion of horns sprouting from their heads this year. We sang out in the backyard around the fire, lounged in the living room, dining room, kitchen, and driveway, ate "Pommel Strike Cupcakes," sipped champagne, sodas, wine, or beer, and definitely had a good time. And because the party actually fell on Halloween, we got to give out candy at the door to the neighborhood trick-or-treaters, and discussed whether it was appropriate or not for someone holding a glass of champagne should open the door for candy-giving.

Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: Saul and Amy, for being such wonderful annual hosts
