After the events of the last week, then meeting up with the HR at the place Cat works, we are left with things, things, and more things to do...hopefully, these will make ease of the more complicated issues we face. One thing everyone should do is take out extra health insurance PLUS life Insurance while they can....the CoPays for just 2 of her 3 medicines would be $700 every 3 weeks, can any of you afford that? We have no idea what the expected CoPay for the Tykerb would be....someone checked into these drugs in Canada and its a third for the copay and the retail cost of these drugs. However, its not an option for us to get them there. Anyway, we are hopeful our oncology nurse will be able to get help with financial aspects of these drugs thru the drug companies...
This week, we have to convert her life insurance to private insurance; get her insurance lined up to Cobra; check into debiting from her deferred compensation plan to pay her part of the drugs, if any, and to pay her Cobra premiums, and check into her getting Medicare early. Whewwwwww...but we are working on this together, and we have a good handle on what we need to do....so say some prayers this will work out amoothly and without a hitch.
Her new pottery classes start Thursday....and I am entertaining taking the AM handbuilding class....I need some recreational outlets.....other than my sandblasting!!!!
We are still "in limbo" waiting to hear from the drug companies on getting the medicines for her...
Her spirits are some better today, we have been thru the wringer the last week....hopefully the tide is at ease now and we will be in a "peaceful space" for a while....
Life sure does have its ups and downs...our downs seem to come in mack truck loads....but we knwo this is all in God's plan for Cat and for me, so we chip away, chip away, and we get by...one day at a time....is all we can do....as long as we have one another, it makes this terrible ordeal alittle better to handle.
