Today a legacy passed on from this world to her wonderful afterlife. She was diagnosed with IBC (inflammatory breast cancer) a year ago. She fought a brave and good fight.....
Andrea was an amazing person and I am a better person from "knowing" her thru her website and journal posts. Never having had the chance to meet her is my loss....
Andrea decided to journal her illness to bring awareness to IBC....it isn't a new cancer, just a relatively little known about one for which there is no cure...
I first heard of her sometime in January 2008 when my local paper did an article on her....she also did an interview with Dr. Dan Gottlieb for radio...her "fanbase" grew in relatively large numbers as her story was published all over the US....I won't go into the details of how it was diagnosed, etc....as this post is to share someone wonderful with more folks....
She left behind 6 children...ages 1 yr. to 18 yrs...and her loving husband....they live in Fishtown,PA. In case anyone would like to ever read of this fascinating woman, her website will continue to be updated by her family...in her memory....go to...www.punkrockmommy.org.
