Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Working

Pages Written... only 4, sigh
Listening to... a fan blowing hot air out of my office
Exercise Done... 45 intense minutes w/my trainer

This morning's workout near 'bout killed me, but I felt better all day long so there's that. My lovely trainer, Julie, even mentioned that we'll probably meet frequently even though my sessions left are down to one, and I can't pay her another dime. That just left me with a big-ass grin and a glow. I feel nurtured in her presence - she's one of the good ones in my life.

In this massive heat wave that's hitting the entire country, I'm doing pretty well - handled today's heat without running to the bookstore, so there's a plus. I have no idea what I'll actually be packing for Reno at this point - I'm too hot to think about it - but I fear there's some shopping in my future darn it all anyway. Nothing like spending money you don't have.

In other news, I spoke with my dear friend Barbara, home from her trip back east to play with fellow knitters. My life is so busy that I won't be able to meet up with her until mid-August, boo.

Talked with Jenn today, she's sounding chipper, though Zar her cat is still not doing terribly well. So keep them both in your thoughts.

And the highlight of the day - Elder Son actually FOUND his RETAINER! Yay on the savings of $200! The bad news is, since he hasn't worn it AT ALL HARDLY, it doesn't fit any more. Harrumph. Well, I look at it this way. Straight As for the last semester vs. not wearing the retainer. Hell, I'll take the straight As.

On a cooking note - This past week has found me making a to-die-for garlic chicken with almost NO oil; peach-blueberry crumble (as well as a bunch of apple crumble); and calzones. Yum YUM, calzones! The Italian version of a pasty. Come winter, I shall experiment with this calzone/pasty recipe, and we shall see what we shall see.

Don't blame me. It's the heat.
