Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Crit Group Good

It's not the magic that was Writers of the Storm a couple of years back. It's not the same as coffee, chat and critique with Jenn that I became so addicted to (think I'm still in withdrawal, to be honest).

But it's a crit group with two other gals, both of whom are dynamite writers and members of my local RWA chapter. If this is what it takes to get me writing on a more regular basis, then I am blessed that they asked me to join them again.

I tried them earlier, a few years ago, for a few months. It was difficult - one member was rarely there, another never brought material to crit (or when she did, it definitely WASN'T romance) plus that member tended to be caustic. Always.

Two gals from that group are still with it, and have asked me to rejoin (with some rules in place). I said yes - the other two gals (the ones with "issues") are no longer a part of it - and it's a warm, cozy, safe place for us to be held accountable for our writing.

I got home about half an hour ago. We were done with critting in 90 minutes but spent another hour chatting. It had been two weeks and it seemed we were needy.

Writers, needy for writerly conversation. Imagine that.

Younger son went back to school today. Older son stayed home, and his fever rose. Most likely he'll be home again tomorrow. And I have to work tomorrow, and won't be home to baby him.

Life is hard. But at least whatever I seemed to have yesterday has left. I think.

Finished off the short short for Woman's World. Now all I need to do is send it off...
