Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Brand New

I'm feeling pretty brand new, lately. A friend told me I should stop pretending to be something I'm not. The only thing I was pretending to be, was a retail worker. I'm a writer, but I wasn't acting like a writer. I wasn't writing.

So. After that revelation, I decided to say "yes" to everything writing-related that I possibly could. I signed up for three online classes through my online chapter, and got one (so far) crit partner whom I adore through the first class. The second class had a well-known author email me privately, saying my premise was exciting and she hoped she'd be seeing the book in the bookstores soon. (!!!) That was nifty.

Then...I took my youngest son to study Improv at Second City in Hollywood. I noticed a Sketch Comedy Writing 1 class began the same day his did, and ran for the same times. Well...I was in Hollywood anyway, right? So...I signed up.

My goodness. The comedy flows. Who'da thunk? LOVED my second class this past Saturday, where the teacher said my homework piece accomplished everything he'd asked seamlessly.

Then domynoe finally shanghaied me into her Dreaming In Ink group which I swear I'll stick with for at least a month in order to get the hang of it...but so far am feeling pretty lost, though there seems to be some terrific writers there. I know I'd learn a lot and get some great feedback. We'll see how it goes. (At heart, I'm a lazy soul.)

And I'm reading a book called How to Write A Damn Good Novel by James Frey (I think) that has been dovetailing into everything I've learned from the last online class, and from the comedy writing class.

It all connects. And I'm a part of it. That is SO COOL!
