IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!

It is humid here, hard to walk, air is very heavy. Reports say rain tonight and tomorrow-hopefully the kind that wipe the humidity from the air!!!

Had crochet meeting last night. It went well. I brought some of the more recent magazines and some of the extra subscription cards with me. We have 11 completed sets of hats and scarfs-I've done most of them. There are six scarfs with no hats, but there was extra yarn-I will be making the hats. The original goal had been 50, I do not think that we are going to make it to that number, but whatever we do will be appreciated I am sure. I am now relaxed about how many sets we make.

One of our regular ladies couldn't make it, but 4 others came. One of the girls has been trying so hard and everything seems to go wrong for her. She had a scarf almost done and left her workbag on the Metro. When she started over she didn't count her chains and it was way too wide. She ended up ripping it out last night-too many missed stitches and the ends weren't even. I have a feeling that when she gets it, she will really get it.

Another lady is from the Phillipines. Before she could graduate from high school, she had to complete a 'handicrafts' type class. Crocheting was a part of it. She is a left handed crocheter which makes it hard for me to judge if she is doing the stitches correctly. Her work was even and all of the sides were even. She just cut her yarn too soon. I showed her how to end the work. She started a second scarf, but saw my entrelac crochet afghan that I need to get done, and wants that pattern. I am not sure she is ready for it, but will give it to her. I told everyone about Lionsbrand site and the free patterns. That should help them find something that they want to do.

That's about it for now. I really didn't want to wake up this morning, but that is normal for a Friday for me.
