It's Only Wednesday?

Yesterday I went crazy at work. My boss is trying to have a town hall meeting with our remote employees all coming here-ok, space for 3days for 30-35 people. He had me call 4 different managers to have them change the location of their meetings so that we could have the space. After I did that and played real nice, he changed the dates!!!!! To the following week. I had to go back to the rooms-a city block away (in the same building-look at the government buildings downtown DC-they are city blocks in size.) see who had the rooms scheduled and recall the four managers. I felt like a fool. Good thing they all agreed to the change. And I think that I identified myself as representing my boss. Now to see if the employees can make travel plans to get here for the new date!!!!! But I was tired before the day was half way over. The rooms I reserved are set up by a first come first serve method of signing up on the calendars on the doors. Not the most efficient way of handling it. But I am not in charge of efficiency.

Now you would think that after all that walking, I would sleep really well last night. Nope, couldn't get to sleep. It was also the first night with no percocet. That may have had something to do with not sleeping. I wasn't in pain, just couldn't stay asleep. SO was up and down too. I wrapped his legs last night, but he set himself up differently on the bed. He thought he was helping. He wasn't. I know he took them off during the night-they were on the floor. I have to call him to make sure he wakes up too. I think that it is going to be hot dogs for supper tonight.

I did crochet a little last night. The apartment was chilly enough that the afghan that I am making for DD wasn't too heavy on my legs.

I had an interesting conversation with a fellow passenger on the bus on the way home last night. I overheard his cell phone conversation. He appeared to be in his late 30s early 40ish., very well dressed, has been on the bus before and gets off at my stop. We would have called him "yuppie" a few years ago. He was talking to some one about how "we ignore those popularity polls until the major newspapers talk about them being below 50%." Other parts of the conversation led me to figure out-White House connection. I mentioned to him a blog site that speaks for a lot my age-astimegoesby.net. I told him to read it and use that information. And president should not change position on health care for popularity poll. That was the second part of conversation I heard him speaking about. Hopefully this person takes heed of my hint. We need to take care of the health insurance problem before anything else. When my oldest granddaughter was born, her mother was still our dependent. My insurance covered her and her baby until the moment the baby was born. Even though technically my granddaughter was my dependent, they only way they would cover her was if my daughter gave her to us. My grand daughter went on state insurance. Illinois has a "every child will be insured" program. But then my DD grew up, got a job, bought a house (cheaper than renting a decent place), and could not afford health insurance for herself. Scary position to be in, had to buy car to keep gainfully employed. Now she is married and is covered by her husband's health insurance. But it made for a tough time since she had to go to a charity organization for female dr. care. Not a good place to be with no choice. She didn't qualify for medicaid-made to much. Couldn't afford to stay with OB-Gyn that we had. We couldn't afford to pay the bill either. She did get the basic care-birth control, but not with her choice of doctor. And occaisionally she was told medical things that I had question with-especially when she was told to go on a 700 calorie diet to lose weight.
