Yup, got it printed out last night, all 50 odd pages. Then I started reading, with a pen, there a cross, oops really need a rewording here, can drop that part off.

I finished catching up on Mark Terry's website. He has A LOT OF GREAT INFO about writing. At least ideas that I never heard discussed. Well, since I never went to any type of writers clubs etc. never exposed myself to it, stands to reason I never heard about it. The only writing classes I had were the basic 101/102 at the local community college. But they mainly retaught what I had learned in high school, except for the footnote thingy-now that we have computers that will put footnotes at the bottom for you and number them in the text for you nicely, you put the foot note in the body. At least that is how they wanted it. Made for horrible reading, and I voiced my opinion of that quite loudly to the 101 instructor who was a proffesional freelancer. She agreed with me, but it wasn't her option-she wasn't department head.

The funny thing, some of the students in the class went to high school with my kids, and when the said that they weren't taugh such a thing, I would look at them and give them the MOM EYE. One kid questioned me, and when I said who I was, and that I knew he had been in my son's classes for English & Comp, and I knew he had been taught how to do whatever the topic was, he asked me why I was in the class. I told him for the credit. The teacher busted out laughing.

Anyway, it is a lot slower to read a 'book' that way. I got through about 6 pages. I did stop to watch some tv and pay attention to hubby. I think that I will need to set aside a block of time to work on the book. It may end up being Saturday afternoons/evenings, weekday evenings are not conducive yet to that type of work. But I am not going to a fire to get it done. I am still learning and teaching myself. I will get it done. When I am done with these first edits, then I will continue the writing the next chapters.

I do have a basic question- what defines a short story? a novella? a book? As I said I have about 50 pages Times Roman 12 font, I think single space. When I am reading it, it looks like what I am reading when I am typing in here.

Crocheting-need to get yarn to finish wip; need to get dd afghan out and have by couch-will do this weekend; and need to continue setting up apartment. 2 months here and still have stuff in boxes. (well stuff was still in boxes after 2 years in the old apartment-we need to go through it all.) Still need to get Microwave cart for kitchen area, but not for microwave-but for additional counter space.
