It is different!

Last night I got home from work and found out that hubby caught a cold. Unusual that he caught it before me, but that is ok, I don't want it. Anyway, he went to lay down for awhile; he had already started supper, so I sat on couch and started working on reviewing book.

You know, reading it this way is soooo much harder. Before I was concerned with basic grammar, matching tenses etc. Now looking at word repeats, use of adverbs, use of action verb, tightening the flow-in other words, putting into practice all that I have been reading about, SHEESH, no wonder writing is a craft!!! I also found myself thinking-do I really want to tell that part of the backstory? Can we hint at it, or is it needed? When I wasn't sure I tried to leave it out, but in one case, the heroine makes a statement based on the backstory that the male lead has told her, and it gives a great understanding to a supporting character's actions. Still not 100% sure of it, but for now it stays. That part may need a total rewrite later; but for now I am leaving it be.

Anyway, after supper, nothing was on TV, so we watched "Grand Torino". WOW. At first I wasn't so sure about Clint Eastwood's charactor, but then he became believable-you could understand where he came from, and how his mind worked. A couple of shaky spots-I can't see an older white man carrying a handgun around MN, but then again, I don't know the gun laws of that state. But definately a movie to rewatch. Hubby had picked it up, originally, I didn't want to see it, but now glad he got it.

It is Friday!!! Working at 2 different secretary's desks today, so it will be hopping around day. I have mid pay period time to input, and then will be working on career development. Have to get some stuff together for that, lots and lots of thinking for that. But have plenty of time for that. Have to use past 3 evaluations to figure my 'core competecy strenghs/weakness". From there we go to figure how to strengthen the weak ones. I have until 3/20 to get this done, but I want to get it done sooner than later.

Talk to you later!!
