First Crushes

DGD is 11 going on 12. She has been friends with a brother/sister all her life. Her mom is friends with their mom. Now DGD has crush on Boy Chris. He is 12 and can be a terror. I don't care for him, have caught him in fibs, blaming sis and DGD for things he did, he is destructive. But, they have been playing together forever.

Anyway, the three of them text each other. Both moms read all texts. That is the rule for having the phones with texts.

All of a sudden he has a sort of 'crush' on her and he has a sort of 'crush' on him. Then he says he likes another. A friend of hers says she will help her with him. Oh the drama of preteens! The friend sends picture of herself to him. Now he likes the friend! Moms swoop in and say enough. No more crushes. You are friends. (or something similar)

Now the fun starts. DD hasn't needed to clear DGD texts for over week. HMMM-why not. Questions-oh I deleted them-you see them on internet. No, I see that you had texts and who from, but not the actual message. Don't delete anymore. You lost phone for x number of day. You know the rule, I get to read all messages. Period.

Another week goes by. Again empty phone. DGD lies to step dad about the phone and texts. Tells mom phone is empty. DGD has now lost EVERYTHING. Computer is locked. VCR is disconnected. Cable is disconnected from tv. Pictures taken of every thing. Only certain books remain in room.

And it is 1st week of vacation. This is first summer DGD is old enough to be left alone. DD is going crazy.
