Working and Strong!

My attitude at home carries over to work, I guess. Strength carries upward?

Our new director assumes that I can do stuff, so I do it. She said, get access to my calendar-I want you to have it now. Call and get it. I did, and do and she is the first that said that. THe first one didn't want anyone else but her secretary to have access to see the calendar. Uh, if I have to be here, and people want to see you-how can I tell if you are going to be available if I can't see your calendar. Then I had email problems-same system handles calendar and email. Well, remote email for the email, and regular email for the calendar! Hey, I can work around the system.

Since my boss retired, and now we have a new director, I don't feel quite like a 'second' choice person for my position. I think I felt like that for a long time and I didn't realize it. No one likes to feel like they weren't the first pick for the spot. And that they were forced to take you cause everyone liked your husband. And that is what happened. And my old boss expected to get rid of me fast-when he couldn't he didn't know what to do with me.

Now I have a new boss who is treating me like a person who is in the job she is meant to be in. Not forced to have me. Not wanting to 'get rid of me'. Help me progress, help me do better-by actually giving me concrete examples and thank yous when I do something that shows I am getting it. Life is a lot less stressful now-even when I am playing musical desks!!
