Friday's news

Friday just before I left work for the day, two pieces of bad news were passed out. First, one of the Branch Chief's John, father passed away. His father was 90, and was ill for some time. The second piece of news was a little more devastating. Lucy, the woman who sits right behind me, has liver cancer. She is going for more tests today. She is the second person in 1 year to be diagnosed with a form of cancer from this floor. The other person, Terry, has bone cancer and is receiving a form of bone marrow transplant on the 21st. They are using his own marrow since they couldn't find a match. Anyway, Lucy, had a breast cancer scare. Breast cancer runs in her family. She had a lump and has been losing weight since her knee surgery. The biopsy on the lump showed it to be benign, but the weight loss wouldn't stop and her appitite didn't come back. Doctors followed up and we just found out the news. Lucy is a sweet person, and always got me to laugh even when I was getting upset. She is very level headed and kind person. So, please send some pleasant thoughts out to the universe for her. She would appreciate them. Thank you.
