Why don't they make them anymore?

Yesterday I spent the day watching Judy Garland movies-yup it was her birthday and Turner Classic was doing a special. They didn't do them in order, but I saw a few that I never saw all the way through before. The last one watched was 'The Wizard of Oz'. But I watched the older black and white movies too. Man could that woman sing and act!

But what I want to know is why they don't make those type of movies anymore? Oh, I know the answer to that question-it wouldn't sell enough. Audiences are too sophisticated for them. Even that cat enjoyed the movies-in my lap!
