Falls become shifts.

I took the folks to their basic monthly doctor's appointment today. The waiting room is on one side of the office area and on the other is a "passageway" through which the patients depart after attending to administrative details. The folks' doctor motioned me around and it turns out he wanted me in on a part-pharmaceutical part-over-ther-counter item, not her hours on the floor fall of two weeks ago.

On the way to the pharmacy Mom would peep up about wanting to read the prescription, which stayed with me the entire time. Heck, it's doctor handwriting, I barely remember what it seemd to say! But Mom also has slowed down, way down, on reading every billboard, bumper sticker and builder plate on the road. After a few hundred trips, one reacts the same as the apocryphal couple living next to the newly abandoned elevated rail.

The talk is when key brothers return from vaction trips the month's end will bring new sessions about the parental situation. Wait long enough, like four years and change---you get the change, like it or not.
